Obama Won't Wear American Flag Lapel Pin
IOWA CITY - Presidential candidate Barack Obama created a bit of a controversy when he stated he is choosing not to wear his American flag lapel pin during his run for the 2008 presidency. He gave a speech in Iowa City Wednesday, October 3rd and he wasn't wearing an American flag pin.
Sen. Obama stated "I decided I won't wear that pin on my chest, instead I'm going to try to tell the American people what I believe will make this country great. Hopefully that will be a testimony to my patriotism."
However this did not sit well with many patriots who view the small flag pins as symbols of their love and support of the US and the Country's troops abroad. The reaction of the American public shows once again how lapel pins can represent a person's affiliation or support to a cause, and by not wearing this small symbol of the American flag, Sen. Obama has generated a small controversy for his campaign.
